The best site for R/C online is towerhobbies.com. And if they don't carry it (like losi) go to horizonhobby.com. Ask anyone who knows anything about RC nitro truck and this is what they will say.

How fast should my gas powered RC car stop>?

Posted on February 10th, 2009 in gas powered rc cars by Admin

How fast was it going?
What tires does it have?
What surfaces are you driving on?
How much brake do you have applied?

I've seen racers who have very little, if any brake setting so they loose very little speed. I've also seen that lock up the tires at the drop of a hat, but wind up sliding out of control.

In general, you probably want it to stop quick enough so that you maintain control. If you are new to driving one, better to be a little slower and cautious till you build up some confidence and skills. Safer for people and property around you as well as your gas rc cars.

What kind of fuels can you use in Gas/Nitro Rc Car?

Posted on February 10th, 2009 in gas rc cars by Admin

I am going to buy a gas RC car that works with nitro/gas. I have no clue if you can also use other fuels like gasoline or mixture of oil and gasoline on those kind of . Nitro is kind of expensive and it kills the engine pretty quickly, so I am wondering if you can use other fuels too.

ONLY USE NITRO FUELS FROM YOUR LOCAL HOBBY STORE.

The engine will DIE if you use other fuels, and you BLOWING YOURSELF (or others) UP!

These engines are DESIGNED to run ONLY NITRO FUELS.

Depending on what car you have you will need between 5% and 30% nitro and 5-30% castor oil.

My car is a 1/10 scale and uses 20% nitro with 16%total oil content (made up of 11% castor and 5% synthetic)

Your owners handbook will tell you what % nitro and oil to run.
