How much is a Nitro Car that is gas powered or electric? Preferably A Skyline GT-R?

Posted on January 27th, 2009 in gas rc cars by Admin

Started Watching RC Racing this morning and now a racing fanatic. Got to get me a gas RC car need to race immediately. But dont know very much information on equipment needed.

There are no electric or powered nitro cars. The choices are nitro, electric or . are large and expernsive and run on regular petrol fuel from the pump. Electrics run on battery packs that you charge on a charger. And nitro cars run on nitromethane fuels from a hobby store. The easiest ones are electric you just plug them in and go. You will need a battery charger and tools. Nitro cars are the other option. They require fuel, glow starter, glow plug, fuel bottle, and tools. Either way get one that is RTR. You can find them for cheap on Ebay but when you break it, the hobby shop might not carry that brand. Look at Towerhobbies.com and your local hobby shop for new ones that you will be able to get parts for.

What is the best brand of offroad nitro gas RC Trucks?

Posted on January 27th, 2009 in gas rc cars by Admin

It will be my first my first one.

If its your first nitro gas rc vehicle, go with Traxxas. They have a reputation for being the most user friendly and durable, in addition to having outstanding customer support and lots of info on their website. You can still get parts for some of their vehicles that are over 10 years old, so you will always be able to repair it. Yes if you have a nitro vehicle, you will eventually break something, just accept that as a fact. Incidentally, Traxxas vehicles are among the fastest ready to run vehicles, and the Revo has won nearly every major championship in its class, so you can rest assured that their products are very race capable. I work as an RC mechanic for my local hobby shop, and Traxxas engines are probably the easiest engines to tune that I have worked on. I have other vehicles which are more suited to racing is specific classes, but when I just want to have fun, I usually pull out my rustler and send it screaming around my back yard or down my street. My T-Maxx was the first truck I ever won a race with, so it has a special place in my heart. Kinda windy and opinionated, I know, but you asked.

are electric rc cars faster than gas powered rc cars?

Posted on January 27th, 2009 in gas rc cars by Admin

I've been watching videos on youtube of rc cars racing real cars and I see mostly electric rc cars im curious because i think gas powered rc cars are faster than electric ones

You can make either an electric or powered car basically as fast as you want, by just putting in a bigger motor/engine.

However, electric vehicles accelerate faster than vehicles because electric motors provide full torque immediately, while engines have to revv up.

Wich are better , gas powered rc truck or electric?

Posted on January 27th, 2009 in rc gas trucks by Admin

I'm going to buy a gas powered rc car when i get my tax return. I want a to buy a rc truck i can take off roading. i was just wondering wich is better for off road or electric.

When I started in R/C many moons ago, I started with an electric Tamiya Dirt Thrasher. I was fun and all, but you could only get 5-7 min of run time on a battery pack and charging and conditioning multiple batteries was very tedious, taking away from the fun. My next r/c was a HPI nitro powered truck. The difference was HUGE. More power, more run time. Yes there is more maintenance involved to keep it running and clean, but I am still a nitro fan!! If this is going to be your first R/C car, go with a Traxxas T-max or Revo. They come ready to run, just need batteries and fuel and replacement parts are readily available, because you will break parts. Good Luck!
